Corner Star Aluminium and The Modern Blind Co installed made to measure Sliding Insect Screen Doors in Kent this week. The customers had been living in the USA and were used to having Flyscreens windows and doors in their home.
The customer had dark window frames with wooden shutters inside, we were asked to match the sliding insect screen doors with the colours of the window frames which were RAL 8017, a dark brown or chocolate colour.
Fitting sliding insect screen doors on to a wooden door frame, which was originally fitted to hold the wooden shutters also posed some challenges in that wooden frames bend and bow with changing conditions such as heat and moisture. To counter the bowing of the inner wooden door frames we fitted in inner screen frame and brush pile to block up any small gaps.
